LIS is accredited by the Council of International Schools (CIS) and the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC). Our CIS accreditation is also recognized by the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS). LIS is also an IB World School and is authorized to offer both the Primary Years (IB PYP) and IB Diploma Programmes (IBDP).

 

Council of International Schools

As a global non-profit membership organization, CIS provides services to primary and secondary schools, higher education institutions and individuals that share these ideals:

  • a desire to provide students with the knowledge, skills and abilities to pursue their lives as global citizens; and
  • a commitment to high quality international education; and
  • a desire to provide students with the knowledge, skills and abilities to pursue their lives as global citizens; and
  • a commitment to high quality international education.

To achieve this goal, our members must infuse their programmes and offerings with international and intercultural perspective so that students can move forward with the attitudes and understanding that will provide them with a solid base wherever their studies or work may take them. Primary and secondary school members must further commit to undertaking an ongoing external quality assurance process to enhance student learning.

New England Association of Schools and Colleges 

 

Founded in 1885, the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) has been working to establish and maintain high standards for all levels of education – from Pre-Kindergarten to the doctoral level - longer than any other accreditation agency in the United States.

NEASC is an independent, voluntary, nonprofit membership organization which connects and serves over 2,000 public and independent schools, technical and career institutions, colleges, and universities in New England plus International Schools in more than 65 nations worldwide. A globally recognized standard of excellence, NEASC Accreditation attests to a school’s high quality and integrity. The four NEASC commissions decide matters of accreditation in the context of research-driven standards reviewed by their membership.  More information about NEASC can be found on their website at www.neasc.org.

 

International Baccalaureate Organization

The IBO offers an education for students from age 3 to 19, comprising of four programmes that focus on teaching students to think critically and independently, and how to inquire with care and logic. The IB prepares students to succeed in a world where facts and fiction merge in the news, and where asking the right questions is a crucial skill that will allow them to flourish long after they’ve left our programmes. We are supported by IB teachers and coordinators who develop and promote the IB’s curriculums in almost 5,000 schools globally every day, in over 150 countries around the world.  More information about the IB Programme can be found on their website at www.ibo.org.
