CAS Within LIS

Welcome to the heart of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme - Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS). CAS isn't just another acronym; it's a transformative experience that encourages students to become well-rounded individuals.

At LIS, we believe that CAS should be an integral part of a student's educational journey from an early age. One of the unique aspects of CAS at our school is our commitment to starting CAS from Year 7 and continuing all the way up to IB2. We believe that fostering creativity, physical activity, and community service from a young age helps students develop into well-rounded individuals who are ready to take on the challenges of the IBDP. Starting CAS early allows students to build a strong foundation in these areas, setting the stage for a successful CAS experience in the diploma years.

The Pillars of CAS:

Creativity:

  • CAS promotes creative thinking and expression.
  • It encourages students to explore arts, music, writing, and other creative outlets.
  • Students embark on projects that push boundaries and encourage innovative thinking.
  • LIS students get the chance to develop those skills through the Middle School CAS Projects and The Hydroponics Program.

Activity:

  • CAS emphasizes the importance of physical and mental well-being.
  • It includes participation in sports, fitness activities, and other forms of recreation.
  • Through this pillar, students maintain a balanced lifestyle.
  • LIS students get the chance to develop those skills through the GGYA and ECO School activities.

Service:

  • Service is about making a positive impact on the community.
  • Students engage in volunteer work and community service projects.
  • Service experiences lead to personal growth and a deeper understanding of social issues.

LIS students get the chance to develop those skills through the Middle School CAS Rotation Projects, ECO School and GGYA activities and The Hydroponics Project.
